February- Green Comet, Canis Cluster and beautiful galaxies!
COMET C/2022 E3 (ZTF)
It's not too late to see this gorgeous green comet C/2022 E3 (ZTF) visible to the naked eye under the right dark sky conditions.
The Comet was discovered by the Zwicky Transient Facility (ZTF) at the Palomar Observatory in California in March 2022 and has made its first close approach to Earth in about 50,000 years. The comet reached its closest distance to Earth on Feb.1, zooming past our planet at about one quarter the sun-Earth distance. By Feb. 10, the comet will have moved significantly to the east and will appear close to Mars, which might make it easier to spot.
