Geminid Meteor Showers Dec, 2018

On December 13th, the annual Geminid meteor shower will reach its highest activity in the Americas. The Geminids are astonishing, with frequency as high as 60 to 120 shooting stars an hour. There will be a unique opportunity for viewing the event this year because observers will only have to compete with a crescent moon until about midnight. The best time for viewing will be predawn on the 14th which is precisely the time the meteor shower is expected to reach peak performance. We recommend that observers capture this event in a time lapse using the Revolution Imager system combined with a wide angle lens.
